On some Windows 11 systems, ThirdRails may fail to open the local activity database at startup and show an error such as “The cloud operation is invalid”.

We have confirmed this can occur after the Windows 11 January 13, 2026 cumulative update (KB5074109). The issue is most likely to happen when ThirdRails data is stored in the Documents folder and that folder is managed by OneDrive. Large local database files (e.g. MyActivities.db) are affected first; smaller databases (e.g. User.db and Announcements.db) often still open normally.

-AI Speech (Azure): Neural voices may be unavailable (Improved in 9.3.0.0)
Due to recent usage spikes, the Azure AI Speech service may temporarily reject voice requests.
You have two options: either use the built-in Windows TTS voices, or create your own free Azure Speech service. Instructions for configuring your own service can be found under Settings → Guard Voice.

-TSC Track error (Solved in 9.3.0.0)
Some Train Simulator Classic users may encounter a track error on first launch of the app. This presents itself as a System.IO.Path.NormalizePath error.
You can safely continue and resolve this by resetting the RailDriver location via:
File → Settings → General tab → “Edit RailDriver Location”.
A permanent fix will be included in the next app update.
